On Saturday 26th March we held our launch party for the new Jiyaan Indian Gourmet Restaurant. 180 guests, including the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Glenis Slater, members of the Asian Business Community, Asian Today Network, Solihull College and the Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Business & Solihull BID, enjoyed a champagne reception followed by an array of tasty food from the JIYAAN Menu cooked by Chef Deepak, formerly of Benares Michelin Starred Restaurant in London.

 

Bollywood Actor Shakti Kapoor flew in especially from India to co-host the night and launch the restaurant while guests were also treated to an evening of live Indian music and dance. The Jiyaan Gourmet Restaurant, located on the High Street in Solihull opposite St Alphege Church, was originally part of the George Hotel, now called the Ramada Solihull, owned by SGS Hotels UK Ltd. The Tandoori style of cooking in the JIYAAN Restaurant offers an array of Meat, Fish & Vegetarian dishes heavily influenced by the fusion of the Mughal Empire & Medieval Indian Cuisine’s, distinct in its rich buttery flavours and ground spices.
